Project I'm possible: Amsterdam's 750th anniversary

In 2025, we will celebrate 750 years of Amsterdam. To mark Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, I participated in a project called I'm possible. The project allows contemporary Amsterdammers to share something in a book and in an exhibition on what Amsterdam means to them personally. I'm possible in Amsterdam, both the first and the second woman; see the pictures.

Let Amsterdam forever remain the place where free thinking, free being, and free doing are possible. Pro-tolerance, -hospitality, and -justice. Against coercion, lust for power, exclusion, and patronization. That is what Amsterdam has always embodied. Learn from mistakes. Listen to each other. Take care of everything and everyone. At home. Anchored. And just let me. Let me do my own thing. I have always done it that way.

Laat Amsterdam voor altijd de plek blijven waar vrijdenken, vrij zijn en vrij doen mogelijk is. Voor toleratie, gastvrijheid en rechtvaardigheid. Tegen dwang, machtslust, exclusie en betutteling. Dat is waar Amsterdam altijd voor heeft gestaan. Leer van fouten. Luister naar elkaar. Zorg voor alles en iedereen. Thuis. Verankerd. En laat me. Laat mij m'n gang maar gaan.
